We had a chat with Independence Manor’s Patricia Wiegand, and here’s what she had to say.
When was Independence Manor founded?
Independence Manor at Hunterdon, an Assisted Living facility, opened its doors in 2000.
What are you most proud of your organization?
The care and support we give to our residents, their families and the community.
What sets your organization apart?
Everyone associated with Independence Manor gives 150% to our residents, whether it’s assisting them to a meal or just sitting and spending time talking with them. We truly feel we are all family.
What do you look for in an employee?
A positive attitude is imperative! The willingness to be a team player and to do whatever it takes to get the job done, no matter how big or small the job may be. It doesn’t matter the position you hold, we are all in this together!
How do you aim to keep your employees engaged and happy?
We strive to be supportive and promote positive ideas and feedback. We celebrate accomplishments through monetary and non-monetary rewards.
What is one piece of advice you’d like to share with other workforce leaders?
Treat everyone equally with respect and kindness, and always listen to your fellow co-workers.
